Event Title

Empowering University Career Centers to be Culturally Sensitive

Description

Studies show that in the next 30 to 40 years ethnic minorities will be the dominant culture in the United States. With this, ethnic minority student population at colleges and universities will increase. Research suggest that ethnic minority cultural sensitivity should be applied during the career counseling process and when engaging with the University Career Center. Themes presented here surround Ethnic Minority Culturally Sensitivity (EMCS), EMCS in Career Centers, and the EMCS in the Career Counseling process. Implications point to ways the Career Center can apply ethnic minority cultural sensitivity through the career center and career counseling process.
