At the start of the 2012-13 academic year, President Halstead spoke of the enduring nature of the College.
Today, the myriad forces facing higher education (the level of student preparation, changing student socio/economic profile, public support/appreciation for the mission of the comprehensive college, MOOCs, etc.) create an environment of uncertainty /ambiguity that can lead to paralysis. In the future, many Colleges (much like ours) will find themselves in a place that bears little resemblance to where they are today. But there will be those institutions that are able to look beyond the challenges of the day and create a future that ensures their vitality and relevance will into the 21st century.
To this end, we started a conversation about the about the College of 2025, the college that the child entering kindergarten today as well as students entering college from other pathways will experience.
